Features
Gristly Remains - Passive
In one corner of the cave, there lie the gnawed on and decomposing remains of a traveler, merchant, or adventurer.
What curious item sits soiled and gnawed on at their feet?
Smuggler’s Stash - Passive
Intrepid adventurers might search for a stash or cache. On an Instinct Roll, they discover some hidden treasure stowed away by smugglers some time ago. Roll 2d12 twice and consult p.XX for the results - one item, one consumable.
Why haven’t the smugglers returned? Or are they the decaying corpse in the corner? Who was expecting this loot and where did it come from?
The Crystalline Reflecting Pool - Reaction
When a PC investigates or approaches the water, they see a blurred sparkling item in the water and then receive a vision. They must make a Knowledge Reaction Roll to interpret the vision or mark Stress on a failure as it overwhelms them.
What causes these visions? What portents of a possible future do they see?
This Den is Occupied - Action (2)
The occupant of the cave den returns home. Add a Bear, 1d3 Dire Wolves, a Giant Snake, or other relevant Tier 1 Beasts. They appear at the entrance of the cave or a back entrance the characters didn’t know about.
Does the beast have a fresh kill? A mate? How much warning will they give the PCs before attacking?
