Description
Skykin are humanoids whose bodies are made of flesh and air. Descended from air elementals, skykin have color-shifting skin that reflects the pale grays and blues of a clear morning sky, the smoldering oranges and fuchsias of the setting sun, or the deep sables and purples of a star-dappled night. These kin often have semi-translucent skin, floating hair of wispy smoke or clouds, or small breezes constantly fluttering their clothing. The intensity of these characteristics heightens or lessens based on the strength of their emotions. Skykin grow to be 5½ to 7 feet on average, and some have elongated features, including their pointed ears, necks, hands, feet, or limbs.
Skykin are born as wisps of air or small clouds, often hard to see and hold. Until they mature and become more solid, they’re contained in jars and other such vessels. Though skykin become more humanoid throughout adolescence, their bodies remain flexible, and some adults can adjust their shape throughout their lives, though it takes time and effort. Skykin live for approximately 300 years, and when they breathe their last, they disappear into the air.
